"She is like one of those little flowers in the field without color or fragrance, on which we step unwittingly, and whose beauty manifests itself to us only when we examine them with care--unknown flowers, flowers of elusive perfume."
- Noli me Tangere by Jose Rizal
Ma. Soledad Lacson-Locsin translation
Hi, my name's Hannah, and I'm a 17-year-old Filipina with a great passion for literature and the performing arts. I, standing at 4'10", am the tiniest bundle of cheer and noise and strangeness that you ever shall meet. I'm currently majoring in chemical engineering at DLSU. Why such a technical course for someone so inclined to arts? Well, I think it's best if I constantly challenged myself. I have known the joy of winning in an essay contest, and performing my best in a play, but learning to love math and its fearful minions? Now that's not just wonderful; it's positively divine!
I was born on July 18 in Baguio City, a quaint, chilly place nestled in the Mountain Province up north. It's the sort of city that spawns nursing schools, second-hand clothing stores (which we call ukay-ukay), and happening little webmistresses (ahem). Presently, I am living in Manila, where I endure the daily temptation of a Starbucks frappuccino, and trips in crowded trains where I get liberal whiffs of armpit. You see that I am a brave soul.
I love my family and friends! They are a bunch of kooky people who give me all the love and support I need. My parents deserve a special mention. Without all of that cheerful spanking and blissful scolding in my childhood, I would not have grown into such a model individual. I joke! I really am thankful for their guidance and faith in me.
I am also very much a Christian. God has done a lot of work in my life, and I am very grateful for all of my favor He continues to give us. ♥
